Atlanta Groeneveld Signs with Hawkeye RedTails Women’s Track and Field

WATERLOO–Hawkeye Community College welcomes track and field athlete Atlanta Groeneveld to the Hawkeye RedTails Family.

Groeneveld, a 2016 graduate of Aplington-Parkersburg High School, competed in track, volleyball, and basketball throughout her career as a Falcon. She is a four-time Iowa State High School Track and Field qualifier for the 400M Hurdles, placing 21st in 2013 (1:11.65), 14th in 2014 (1:08.92), 7th in 2015 (1:06.72), and 14th as a senior in 2016 with a time of 1:08.42. In addition to athletics, Groeneveld was involved in choir, National Honor Society, and Future Farmers of America, serving as its president in 2016.

She is the daughter of Duane and Melanie Groeneveld. She is transferring from Wartburg College and plans to enroll in the Nursing program at Hawkeye this fall.
