Coach Weston had the following to say about the incoming freshman;
"I'm excited to get a player of Leah's caliber. She comes from a terrific volleyball family. Her mother (Chris) played college volleyball, sister (Jordan) currently plays college volleyball, and now Leah's taking the next steps and bringing her talents to us here at Hawkeye." "Coach Carter, who is Leah's mother, coached her all four years in high school; so I know she has been coached well and has a solid fundamental background. We share a lot of the same volleyball playing philosophies and I'm excited to see her growth as an individual and player these next couple of years."
Leah is the daughter of Chris and Natches Carter and plans to enroll in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Hawkeye.
