WATERLOO - Coach Scott Weston is excited to announce the signing of Waterloo East High School senior Lexi Wroe to the Hawkeye Community College Volleyball team.

Wroe's 4 year stats as a Trojan included 641 kills, 95 assists, 780 digs and 28 blocks. She also garnered an impressive 85.7% serve percentage, including 126 aces throughout her 327 career games. Coach Weston had the following to say about his recent addition to the RedTail Volleyball team:

"Adding another key piece to our puzzle is phenomenal. I had the opportunity to watch Lexi early on this season against a very tough and eventual State Champion Cedar Falls team. What I noticed immediately was Lexi's tenacity and drive on the floor. She played at an extremely high level and never backed down against a tough opponent. She rallied her team and came up with many big points when her team needed her to step up. She's an intelligent player who plays well above the net. One thing about Lexi, she's always positive and smiling. She fits in with our group very well and adding a player of her quality and caliber makes us instantly better."

Weston also went on to discuss how the RedTail program was coming along thus far. "I am highly encouraged by our overall group thus far. Not only are we very versatile and filled with talent, they all mesh well and have positive attitudes. "Anyone who knows me knows how much our program preaches "Encourage, not discourage"; those positive attitudes make a world of difference"
