WATERLOO–The Hawkeye RedTail volleyball team climbed to No. 11 in the nation in the NJCAA Division II poll released today.
The RedTails (11-1), winners of their last 10 matches, moved up from the No. 19 spot after a 3-1 upset victory last week against No. 5 Des Moines Area Community College. The Bears (8-1) fell to No. 12 in the new Division II poll. The RedTails also dispatched previously unbeaten Marshalltown, a Division I program, and now sit as the highest-ranked team from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.
This is the first season for volleyball at Hawkeye Community College. The team is coached by Scott Weston and assisted by Tyann Caspers. The RedTails travel to Iowa Central on Wednesday.
