INDEPENDENCE–Kaylee Hosch has signed a letter of intent to join women's track and field team at Hawkeye Community College for the 2019-2020 year.
Hosch was Independence High School's lead runner in the 400-meter dash (1:00.38) in 2018, and second (1:01.69) in 2017. She was also lead runner in the 800-meter run (2:32.14) that year. Hosch is a 12-time state qualifier and a two-time Drake Relays qualifier. Along with track, she ran cross country for four years, played basketball for three years, and played softball for four years. She is also a member of FFA and 4-H, and was on honor roll.
"I'm excited for her, as she's run really well with the 400," said RedTails head coach Tyler Mulder. "She has a lot of potential to improve her time with the 400 and 800 and even qualify for nationals."
She is the daughter of Wayne and Linda Hosch and plans to enroll in the Animal Science program at Hawkeye this fall. For more information on Hawkeye RedTail Athletics, call 319-296-4430 or visit www.redtailathletics.com.
