RedTail Esports had four games over the weekend in the TESPA brackets. Varsity Overwatch faced UCLA and Washington State University, while JV Overwatch took on Fort Hays State University and Daemen College.
In the UCLA match, the RedTails took the first map to jump out to a 1-0 lead, but UCLA had different plans for map 2, bringing the series to 1-1 and pushing the RedTails to a rare map 3. In the end, the RedTails took map 3 and set themselves up for a battle for first place against Washington State.
Washington State, Grand Canyon, Ashland University, and Hawkeye were the only four unbeaten teams after the first five games, the winner of the Washington State vs. Hawkeye game would be tied for the first spot in the TESPA bracket.
Once again, Hawkeye jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but Washington State completed the reverse sweep, taking the series 2-1 and securing a tie for first with Grand Canyon University. RedTails fell to seventh overall, one spot lower than their previous ranking.
JV Overwatch split their games, taking a victory over Fort Hays State University by a final of 2-0, but dropped the match against Daemen College, 2-0.
All four teams will be in action once again this weekend.
