LUBBOCK, TX - The Hawkeye Community College RedTails concluded the 2018 Indoor Track & Field season at the NJCAA Indoor Championships held inside the Sports Performance Center at Texas Tech University.
The RedTails freshman duo of David Thompson and Konnor Roth had an impressive showing in the 800 Meter Run, as they finished 11th and 18th respectively in the event. The duo also teamed up with Landon Boomsma and Ryan Millikin to compete in the 4x800 Meter Relay, finishing with a time of 7:56.32 and a 10th place finish. The distance medley crew of Ryan Millikin, Avery Moore, Landon Boomsma, and Peter Torkleson also had a 10th place finish with a time of 10:26.91.
Jack Jensen, Cole Willert, and Brandon and Kenneth Beard teamed up to have an impressive finish in the 4x400 Meter Relay at the Indoor Championships as they took home 12th place after posting a time of 3:16.87. Brandon Beard would also compete in the 200 and 400 Meter Dashes and earn a 19th place finish in the 200 and 20th in the 400.
In the 60 Meter Hurdles, Riley Little sprinted to the line to finish his heat in a time of 8.65 seconds and took an 18th place finish overall.
The Men's High Jump featured the RedTails' Zachary Conger, as the highflyer from Hedrick, Iowa earned a best jump of 1.95 Meters to finish in a tie for 16th place.
The RedTails will kick off the Outdoor Track & Field season on March 24th at the Augustana Spring Opener Track Meet hosted by St. Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.
