WATERLOO- Hawkeye Community College welcomes women's track and field athlete Emily Hovden to the RedTails Family.
Hovden is a senior attending Southland High School in Adams, Minnesota, and will be graduating in the Spring of 2018. A state track qualifier in 2016 and 2017, Hovden had a very decorated high school career. In 2016 she placed 9th in the Minnesota State Track Meet in the 4x200M, and took home a 3rd place finish at state the following year in the same event. Hovden also earned a 12th place finish in the 2017 4x100M at the state meet. She was a part of Southland High School's sectional champion 4x200M team as well as an All-Conference selection in the 100M, 200M, 4x100M, 4x200, and pole vault in her career. In addition to track, she was also involved in volleyball, student council, National Honors Society, and serves as the school's blood drive coordinator.
Hovden is the daughter of Scott and Jessie Hovden, and plans to enroll in the Nursing Transfer program at Hawkeye.
