DAVENPORT–The Women's RedTail Track and Field placed in the top three for several events at the Battle of the Hive on January 14, including Rachel Rusche placing first in the 3000 meter, who completed her race in 14 minutes and 33.39 seconds.
Additionally, the RedTail Women's Track and Field had third place finishes from Abby Bartz in the shot put with 37-10 ¾, Maddie Tieskotter who ran a 3:35.51 in the 1000 meter, and Carlie Hoppe with a 10.32 in the 60 meter hurdles.
Excitement was felt by not only the athletes, but the fans, as we were all anticipating a debut of a new head coach. Scott Roberts made his start as a RedTail, which made for an exciting first weekend of track and field. "I thought they handled their first meet well," Roberts said, "I am proud of their effort."
