Hoppe PR's at Mankato for the Women’s RedTail Track and Field Team
MANKATO, MINN.–The RedTail Men's Track and Field kicked off their February competition this Saturday, February 4 at the Ted Nelson Classic for Minnesota State University in Mankato.
Sophomore student-athlete Carlie Hoppe was one of the top RedTails, placing seventh in the shot put with a throw of 39 feet 11 ½ inches, just barely missing finals qualifications. Hoppe also placed 14th in the high jump with a jump of 4–7 ¾ inches.
Freshman Abby Bartz wasn't far behind her, placing 9th and throwing 39–7 ¼. Bartz also competed in the weight throw, placing 15th overall and throwing 41–11 ½.
Freshman Hailey Eitzenhefer ran her 400 in 1 minute and 8.64 seconds, placing 10th overall.
"I thought we were a bit flat as a team this week," head coach Scott Roberts commented. "But we are looking to bounce back, with the entire team back together, this Friday at St. Ambrose."
