RedTails lose to Northeast 0-3
RedTail Volleyball lost to Northeast Community College 0-3 on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.
Northeast won the first set with a strong lead of ten points with a score of 15-25. The RedTails performed much better in the second set keeping up with Northeast throughout the set. Northeast was just able to get a two point lead, closing out the set 23-25. The RedTails had a strong start in the third set with an early lead but Northeast was able to turn it around and finished the set 21-25, closing out the match 0-3.
"Set 1 was tough, we had a lot of unforced errors," said head coach Christy Mahi. "We really cleaned things up in set two and competed with them losing 23-25. We took that same focus into set three and actually led 10-6 at one point until one of their servers went on a run."
"I continue to be proud of how we battle and that we choose to continue to fight regardless of the score. We didn't get the win, but we improved in areas we needed to in order to be successful."
Wednesday was also Sophomore Night for the RedTails. Mahi shared her thoughts about this year's group of sophomores:
"It was fun to honor the sophomores for their hard work and dedication to the program before the match." she said. "They are a great group of people and have been a joy to coach. We will miss having them in our gym next fall and wish them only the best as they move on to what is next for each of them."
The RedTails will play against North Iowa Area Community College on Wednesday, October 30.
