RedTail Bowling teams played in the Leather Neck Classic
The RedTails competed this past weekend, November 9-10, at the Leatherneck Classic in Rockford, Illinois which is one of the biggest events of the year as this event has one of the biggest fields we see. Out of 40 men's teams, our men finished in 29th place and the women were 28th out of 30 teams. Ryder Fleming was our highest finisher for the men with a 201 average for five games, which put him at a four way tie for 74th place. Kiyrah Karstens found herself in 61st place for the women, being the highest finisher, averaging 172 for her five games.
"Both teams need to work on their spares as we left a lot of pins out on the table and could have easily been 5-10 spots higher in the standings if we did so," said head coach Roger Taylor. "Our focus in practice this week will be on our spare games to prepare for our next event in Council Bluffs this weekend. Both teams did however, have a better mindset in the sense that they were able to bounce back quickly from throwing a bad shot which is a great thing to take away going into the next event."
The RedTail bowling teams will be competing again in the second M.I.B Conference Tournament this weekend November 16-17.
