Strong Finishes Fuel RedTails at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite
The RedTail Men's and Women's Golf teams competed at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite on April 3-4, 2026. Making some serious progress, the golf teams continue to tread through their Spring season.
Men's Team Highlights
Preston Martens led the RedTails with an 80 (+8), climbing to 15th overall. Martens steadied himself after a tough front nine (43) and delivered a strong back nine 37, highlighted by multiple pars and clean play coming home.
Kaden Kopsa followed with an 82 (+10), posting matching 39s on each side. Kopsa's consistency kept him inside the top 30 as he continues to trend upward.
Oliver Thompson and Mitchell Randall each carded 85 (+13) to sit T48. Thompson's round featured a pair of birdie opportunities converted on the front, while Randall opened with a solid 42 and stayed steady throughout the back.
Matty Bain rounded out the team scoring with a 96 (+24), bouncing back on the inward nine with a composed 42 after a difficult start.
Individual competitor Graham Bremner turned in a strong 81 (+9), placing 22nd. Bremner's round included a clean stretch of pars on the back nine that kept him in contention.
Women's Team Highlights
The RedTail women continued to battle through a demanding setup, led by Eve Brumbaugh, who posted a 93 (+21). Brumbaugh's back‑nine 43 was one of the team's best stretches of the day, showing poise and control late in the round.
Makenna Brissey added a 106 (+34), matching Brumbaugh's 50 on the front before grinding through the closing holes.
Natalie Sinnwell finished close behind with a 108 (+36), carding 54‑54 in a steady, balanced round.
Delaney Legg recorded a 114 (+42), highlighted by several strong par saves on the outward nine.
Jillian Reisetter completed the lineup with a 128 (+56), showing resilience throughout the round and closing with her best stretch on holes 16–18.
Head Coach Micah Destival started by commenting on the men's performance, saying, "We did some good things on the course, but the weather was pretty awful, resulting in higher scores than we'd have liked. Think the guys are ready to get back at it on Monday at Glen Oaks."
Coach Destival finished out with the women's, commenting, "Considering the weather, I thought we played pretty well. Eve played great on the back nine in cold, windy conditions to have one of her best nines as a RedTail."
