RedTails Place 4th at St. Ambrose University
AMES–The RedTails competed at the Fighting Bee Invite on January 28-29 at St. Ambrose University and placed fourth overall.
In the men's 60-meter dash, Ray Talbert lowered his school record and national standing ranking to a time of 6.82.
Stephen Thomas qualified for nationals in the men's 1000.
Blake Veenstra had two personal best marks In the shot put and weight throw, which ranks him top three for both and he almost improved his school record marks for both. His shot put distance was 16.69 meters, and his weight throw distance was 16.42cm.
Head coach Tyler Mulder commented, "This was a long fun meet; we ended it with each training group running a 4x4 and retested some athletes for next week. Each week we qualify more athletes so it's looking like we're going to have a good sized group heading to the indoor championships!"
The RedTails are back in action on Friday, February 4, at the Bearcat Invite at Northwest Missouri State University.
