RedTails Coming in Strong for Nationals
Maryville, MO-Eight members of the RedTail Men's Track and Field set personal records this past weekend (February 4-5) at the Bearcat Invite at Northwest Missouri State University.
"Overall the team really ran strong, we saw a number of highlights and personal best times! Ray Talbert really had a breakthrough race as he broke his school record in the 60 again, to show he's one of the NJCAA's best," head coach Tyler Mulder commented. "Tyler Colvin had two monster races in the 5k and Mile, that really shows off his hard work! The 800 squad lowered their composited time in the 4x800m relay as they had a personal best mark from Mason Chipman and a season best mark from Chase Mullenix."
In the 60-meter dash Ray Talbert set a new school record of 6.79 seconds.
Blake Osborn (22.03) and Ray Talbert (22.07) both set personal records in the 200.
In the 400, Blake Osborn had a season best time of 49.81 seconds and Jacob Jensen set an indoor personal record of 51.84 seconds.
In the 800, Mason Chipman set a personal record of 2:00.72. In addition, Chase Mullenix (1:58.91) and Oliver Sowell (2:03.88) both recorded their season best times.
Tyler Colvin (4:32.32) set a personal record in the mile.
In the 3000, D'Artagnon Beaver set a personal record of 8:50.94.
Tyler Colvin (15:58.62) and Cooper Olsen (16:46.54) both set personal records in the 5000.
Coach Mulder commented, "Super proud of the kids and it was great prep work for nationals as it will be a similar surface and against a lot of the same teams!"
The RedTails are back in action on Saturday, February 12, at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Invite.
