Male Athlete of the Week-Isaac Vaske
RedTail Track and Field runner Isaac Vaske has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Mustang Open at Mt. Mercy College on April 9.
Isaac came out of the day with two of the seven Meet Champions. He won the 400 meter hurdles with a National's qualifying time of 55.08 and was a part of the winning 4x400 relay helping the RedTail's men's team win the meet overall.
"Isaac has really worked hard to come in at the semester and be an immediate impact indoors along with hitting the NJCAA Auto Qualifier in his debut in the 400m hurdles," said coach Tyler Mulder. "He's a leader by example and we're very excited to see how things progress for him!"
"It felt really good running the 400m hurdles again for the first time in two years," says Isaac. "I attacked each hurdle really well and I thought I finished really strong. Shoutout to my teammates Eddie Tapia and Zane Vance who also ran really well in that race and for pushing me every day in practice."
Vaske is originally from Le Mars, Iowa.
