Thrower Nelson Joins RedTail Track and Field

Hawkeye Community College is excited to announce the signing of Christ Kelly Nelson from Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Christ Kelly will join the RedTail Men's Track and Field program as a specialist in the discus and shot put.

Christ Kelly comes to the RedTails with a strong competitive resume, having earned Second Team All-District and Second Team All-Metro honors during his junior year. With four years of experience in the circle, he is ready to transition his "hustle" to the collegiate level while exploring his academic options at Hawkeye.

"I'm excited to come to HCC to get the feel of how college track is going to be and get ready to put in a lot of work to achieve my goals," Nelson said. "I love the chase, I love the hustle, so I'm ready to go and get it."
