RedTails Run a 5k at the Mount Mercy Corridor Classic
CEDAR RAPIDS- The RedTails Men's Cross Country team traveled to Cedar Rapids to compete in the Mount Mercy Corridor Classic. The team had one finisher in the top 10, with two runners setting personal best times.
The men all ran a strong race. D'Artagon Beaver finished first for the RedTails and eighth overall with a personal best of 16:24.5. This is the second best time for a 5k in RedTail Men's cross country history. Tyler Colvin was the next RedTail to finish with a personal best of 16:46.0. The next RedTail to cross the finish line was Cooper Olsen with a time of 16:53.7. Harrison Vanderlinden finished next for the RedTails with a time 16:58.9. Next to cross the line for the RedTails was Stephen Thomas with a time of 17:05.0. Dodsen Melchiori was next for the RedTails, finishing with a time of 17.29.2.
"The men's team gave us a glimpse of what this team is capable of and will be very strong as we build towards the 8k," says coach Tyler Mulder "We're very excited for this men's team as they work really well together in training and it's a positive group to work with!"
Next up the team will travel to Grinnell on September 11 to run an 8k.
