RedTails Take 2nd as Team and Squad at Home Invitational
WATERLOO- The Hawkeye RedTail Sports Shooting team had a tremendous amount of success this past weekend in their meet at Stockdale's Gun Club in Ackley, IA. The RedTails top squad took second with a score of 472, while the team took second with a score of 481. To top it all off, Emily Klein took first place in the female division with a score of 97.
Klein and Marcus Draves were the top shooters for the RedTails. Each had a score of 97, as Austin Boldt followed them with a 96. Those three, along with Jordan Lentz and Amber Barloon, were the members of Hawkeye Community College Blue squad who finished in second place. Iowa Central went on to win the squad division with a score of 486.
In the team division, the RedTails substituted Ross Wolken and Marcus Lampe's scores in for Lentz and Barloon. Lampee scored a 96 and Wolken scored a 95. This gave the RedTails a final score of 481, giving them another second place finish. Trailing only Iowa Central, who won the meet with a team score of 488.
The RedTails next meet will be the ICCAC Collegiate Championships on Saturday, April 29 at Stockdale's Gun Club in Ackley, IA.
