Athlete of the Week: Jake Maakestad

Hawkeye sports shooting sophomore Jake Maakestad was named the RedTail athlete of the week for his performance against Indian Hills.
Maakestad competed against Indian Hills on October 16, placing first in the men's division by hitting 97 targets. Maakestad has been included in five out of the six team scores during their undefeated season. He is also successful off the field, in the classroom.
"Jake is a consistent performer for our team," said head coach Troy Emley.
Maakestad is a native from Hubbard, IA, and is currently studying Automotive Technology while attending Hawkeye.
