Male Athlete of the Week-Devan Myers

RedTail sports shooter Devan Myers has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performance in the ISTA State Championships at Cedar Falls Gun Club on April 23-24.

Devan had a spectacular outing at the ISTA State Championships. Devan is Iowa SCTP Jr. Collegiate Sporting Clays State Champion. Devan is both successful in the classroom as he is out on the field. His score of 80 birds led our sporting clays team to a 3rd Place finish at the championship.

"Devan worked for every target on his way to being crowned Champion," said coach Troy Emley. "The miserable conditions created by the wind made sporting clays even more challenging. Devan did not have the outcome he desired from the Skeet Championship, but he showed his competitive fire by setting aside that performance and looking to the next opportunity."

Myers is originally from Preston, Iowa.
