RedTail Sports Shooting Beats the Warriors
The RedTails went up against the Indian Hills Warriors on Saturday, October 6, at the Waterloo Izaak Walton League range.
The RedTails won with an overall team score of 475 targets. Zach Erpelding had an individual score of 97 targets and placed first individually in the men's category. Colton Crooks was just one target short of Erpelding, shooting 96 targets and taking second place individually. Elliott Brincks shot a total of 95 targets, Haydan Pestorious shot 94 targets, and Sam Singewald shot 93 targets. Lydia Covert took first place in the women's individual category, shooting a total of 91 targets. Colton Crooks, Elliot Brincks, and Zach Erpelding earned 25 straight patches.
Head coach Troy Emly had some positive words after Saturday's match.
"We had a couple trial by fire victories during this competition," he said. "Lydia won her first ever shoot-off of her career and Colton is no stranger to shoot-offs, but had to shoot a 25 Straight, in the windy conditions, to earn a win in the shoot-off. We did well today, our student-athletes have high expectations for themselves. We need to make the most of every target opportunity. We defended our home field and look forward to our next opportunity to compete on October 14. Go RedTails!"
The RedTails next match up will be on Saturday, October 14, against Kirkwood, at the Waterloo Izaak Walton League range, starting at 1:00pm.
