The RedTail Softball Team opened their week long trip to Florida at South Florida State College. The RedTails dropped both games, losing game one 6-0 and losing game two 9-1.
Game One: 6 (SFSC), 0 (HCC)
The RedTails were overpowered by the pitching performance from SFSC. The RedTails were unable to string together any hits. They threatened in the top of the seventh inning with two walks in a row, but were unable to capitalize.
Defensively, Hawkeye played a clean game, having no errors on the game.
At the plate, the RedTails drew five walks. On the mound, Mya Chamberlin took the loss, going six innings, giving up five hits, two runs, three walks, and seven strikeouts. Kyra Ballard pitched, giving up two hits, four earned runs, and two walks.
Game Two: 9 (SFSC), 1 (HCC)
The top of the first saw the sole RedTail run of the game. Alyvia Anderson hit a single and moved to second when Isabelle Kriegel hit a single. The bases were loaded by a Panther error, and a Lucy Lebo walk scored Anderson.
In the field, there were three RedTail errors in the game. On the mound, Sienknecht threw 3.1 innings, giving up five hits, five earned runs, and four walks. Addyson McKillip threw one inning, giving up three hits, four runs, zero earned, two walks, and one strikeout.
