Three RedTail Softball Players Earn Post Season Awards
Three RedTail softball players were named to the ICCAC All-Region teams. Mya Chamberlin, Mackenzie Bridgewater, and Isabelle Kriegel each were recognized due to their impressive 2026 seasons.
Mya Chamberlin - Second Team All-Region Pitcher
Chamberlin, who was named to the 2025 ICCAC All-Region Honorable Mention team last year, was named Second-Team this season due to her impressive performance on the mound.
The sophomore is a native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Chamberlin has a single-season record of 13 wins on the mound. This year, she threw 161.2 innings, giving up 165 hits, 100 runs, just 66 earned, and 44 walks. This season, she struck out 139 batters (ninth in the conference) and maintained a single-season record of a 2.86 earned run average (seventh in the conference).
At the plate, she contributed to her own success with a .318 batting average and .344 on base percentage. She had 47 hits, 26 runs batted in, and scored 27 times. She also hit 14 doubles (a single-season record) and four home runs.
Overall, Chamberlain has a career ERA of 4.05, 20 wins, threw 325.1 innings, and has 282 strikeouts, all career records for the RedTails.
Mackenzie Bridgewater - Second Team All-Region Utility
Bridgewater, a freshman out of Walker, Iowa, was the true definition of a utility player this season, earning her a spot on second Team All-Region.
Bridgewater spent about half the games this season in the outfield and half the games at second base. She maintained a .936 fielding percentage in the field, having 96 put outs, 36 assists, and had 10 double plays on the year.
At the plate, Bridgewater was a tough out for other teams with her speed. She had a .353 batting average with a .429 on base percentage. She now holds the single-season record of 61 hits and the single-season record of 35 stolen bases (third in the conference). She scored 42 runs, had 16 runs batted in, 21 walks, three doubles, and two triples on the year.
Isabelle Kriegel - Honorable Mention All-Region Infield
Kriegel, a freshman from Marengo, Iowa, found a spot on the Honorable Mention list due to her impressive performance at the plate this season.
A third baseman and catcher, Kriegel was a key part to the RedTail’s success this season. She had 107 putouts and 32 assists. She also threw out four base runners trying to steal on her this season.
At the plate, Kriegel put an impressive resume together, having 60 hits on the season, including 11 doubles and 11 home runs. She had a .357 batting average with a .446 on base percentage, and an impressive .619 slugging (highest on the team). She had 52 runners batted in (single season record) and scored 40 runs herself.
Well-deserved recognition for all three of these women and their hard work and dedication this season.
