Female Athlete of the Week-Lanie Konzen

RedTail bowler Lanie Konzen has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Kohawk Invitational in Cedar Rapids on February 5-6.

Lanie averaged 171.4 for 5 games in the individual part of the tournament. She anchored the whole day Sunday for the 16 baker games the ladies bowled. She had only two open frames the whole day.

"Lanie definitely brought the team up and kept the excitement all weekend long," said coach Heath Kohl. "She really showed why she is a captain and team leader. This was a great way to push her way for being selected to the Nationals team."

"Our team competed very well together this weekend," says Lanie. "Everyone was encouraging others throughout the day which made it possible for us to make some good scores. I feel like I threw the ball very well and made great shots when we needed it. After competing in the tournament I feel more confident in myself which will help me when we compete at Nationals."

Konzen is originally from Farley, Iowa.
