OLIVIA MCDANIEL SIGNS WITH HAWKEYE COMMUNITY COLLEGE WOMEN’S BOWLING
Hawkeye Community College is excited to announce that Olivia McDaniel has signed to continue her academic and athletic career as a member of the Women's Bowling program.
McDaniel comes to Hawkeye from Vinton-Shellsburg High School in Vinton, Iowa. She began bowling at a young age and has spent the last three years competing, developing her skills and passion for the sport. Her experience and dedication have helped prepare her for the challenge of competing at the collegiate level.
As she makes the transition to Hawkeye, McDaniel is looking forward to elevating her game, training alongside her teammates, and continuing to grow as both a student and an athlete. She plans to pursue General Education while competing for the RedTails.
"I'm really excited to join Hawkeye Community College and continue my bowling career," McDaniel said. "I'm looking forward to competing at a higher level, working with my teammates, and growing as a bowler during my freshman year."
"I first met Olivia a few years ago in a local instructional league and she was one of my students within the league," says Head Coach Roger Taylor. "Over the time that I have known Olivia, she has constantly worked on her game and can bowl for hours on end. Always competitive, especially towards her dad and sister. We have continued to work together from time to time and tried different things, from adding in a stutter step, body alignment, and swing direction, Olivia has come a long way in just a few short years. She is also a great leader on her high school team, as she brings the energy and passion to motivate the rest of the girls. She is not afraid of any challenge she may face. I have been impressed with Olivia's work ethic and have come to know her as a driven individual who aspires to compete at the highest level."
Hawkeye Community College is proud to welcome Olivia McDaniel to the RedTail family and looks forward to her future with the Women's Bowling program.
