RedTails Earn 3–1 Road Win Behind Strong First Half
RedTail Women's Soccer traveled to Oskaloosa on April 11, 2026, for a spring scrimmage against William Penn University and came away with a strong 3–1 victory. Hawkeye set the tone early, striking within the opening 15 minutes and carrying that momentum through a dominant first half. Goals came from Alyssa Harberts, Jael Brühlmeier on a penalty earned by Grace Lea, and Amy Knock, building a 3–0 advantage before the break and showcasing the group's continued growth this spring.
Coach Rennie's Take
Head Coach Chris Rennie highlighted the team's intentional growth areas and how they translated onto the field:
"Since our last game, we have had three areas we want to see growth in. The first was a stronger start, especially in the first 15 minutes. We were able to do that and got our first goal in that time. Second, we wanted to win more physical battles, and third, we wanted to be better at controlling possession. In the first 45 minutes, we did a lot of these things and built up a 3-0 lead. Our biggest challenge in the coming games will be to maintain those levels for the full 90 minutes. It's been a great start to the Spring season, getting two wins out of two on the road to four-year universities, but we want to keep challenging this set of players as we know they still have higher levels that they can hit."
