Female Athlete of the Week- Abby Bartz

RedTail Track and Field shot put student-athlete Abby Bartz has been named Scheels Female Athlete of the Week for her performances so far this season.

Bartz did very well this week: she competed in two meets in two days and hit a lifetime PR. She also did very well in the classroom this week and attended study tables. At her most recent meet, Abby qualified for nationals, made finals in every event, and tied the indoor school record for her throws.

"Abby is the definition of resilience," said coach Jhawan Horton. "She's been battling injuries and soreness and pushed through it. She had a mark she has been chasing for a while now and she finally hit it. I am very proud of what she has accomplished."

Bartz is originally from Vinton, IA.
