RedTail Women's Track and Field Competes at Region XI Champs
WATERLOO–The RedTail Women's Track and Field Team competed at the Region XI Championships on May 7. They scored third as a team with a score of 100.
100M- Mattie Jensen placed seventh with a time of 13.17, followed by Maddi Vawter in eighth with a time of 13.50.
100M Hurdles- Kallie Mincks represented the RedTails in seventh place with a time of 23.13.
200M- Jordan Gallentine placed fourth with a time of 25.78, followed by Mattie Janssen in fifth with a time of 26.92, and Maddi Vawter in seventh with a time of 27.75.
400M- Jordan Gallentine represented the RedTails in third place with a time of 58.38.
800M- Jules Breakenridge represented the RedTails in fourth with a time of 2:31.17.
1,500M- Maddie Tieskotter represented the RedTails in sixth place with a time of 5:37.18.
5,000M- Maddie Tieskotter represented the RedTails in first place with a time of 23:46.18.
4x400M Relay- The RedTails were represented by Gallentine, Breackenridge, Mincks, and Hoppe with a second place finish and a time of 4:39.70.
4x800M Relay- The RedTails were represented by Breakenridge, Rusche, Tieskotter, and Miller with a second place finish and a time of 12:28.41.
Hammer Throw- Abby Bartz led the RedTails with a third place finish and a distance of 40.76m, followed by Elyse Trunck in 11th with a distance of 33.89m, Delaney Kopriva in 13th with a distance of 29.55m, and Isabella Hesse in 14th with a distance of 25.90m.
Javelin- Carlie Hoppe placed fifth with a distance of 31.76m, followed by Isabella Hesse in ninth with a distance of 25.19m, Lexi Miller in 13th with a distance of 23.09m, Elyse Trunck in 14th with a distance of 22.55m, and Abby Bartz in 16th with a distance of 17.41m.
Shot Put- Abby Bartz placed fourth in a distance of 12.23m, followed by Carlie Hoppe in seventh with a distance of 11.49m, and Elyse Trunck in tenth with a distance of 9.91m.
Pole Vault- Victoria McCraney placed second with a height of 2.15m, followed by Carlie Hoppe in third with a height of 2.05m.
Discus Throw- Elyse Trunck led the RedTails with a third place finish and a distance of 34.32m, followed by Abby Bartz in tenth with a distance of 30.15m, and Delaney Kopriva in 14th with a distance of 19.41m.
"I was very proud of the entire team as our women had their highest finish in school history, outdoors, with a 3rd place finish. We defeated Division I, Indian Hills, and I am very proud of them. It was a total team effort by the entire women's team," said coach Scott Roberts.
