HAWKEYE WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD ADDS THROWER MAYA SWARTS
Hawkeye Community College is excited to welcome Maya Swarts, a discus and shot put thrower from Cedar Falls, Iowa, to the RedTail Women's Track & Field program. Swarts joins Hawkeye from Cedar Falls High School and plans to study Liberal Arts Science while continuing to grow as a collegiate thrower.
Maya began track in 7th grade and quickly discovered that throwing was more than just an event—it became one of the most meaningful parts of her high school experience. Through the circle, she found a community, lifelong friendships, and a passion she is committed to improving at the next level. Discus is her primary event, but she brings strength and competitiveness in both throwing disciplines.
Looking ahead to joining the RedTails, Maya shared:
"Throwing has always been my favorite part of high school. It's given me friends, a community, and something I truly care about improving. I'm excited to take that next step at HCC."
Maya adds depth, determination, and strong potential to Hawkeye's growing throws group.
