HAWKEYE WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD SIGNS THROWER GABRIELLA BANTA
Hawkeye Community College is excited to welcome Gabriella Banta, a thrower from Arkansas City, Kansas, to the RedTail Women's Track & Field program. Banta will study Dental Hygiene while continuing her young but rapidly rising career in the throwing events.
Gabriella began track and field less than a year ago, stepping into the sport with little experience but a tremendous amount of determination. Despite being new to throwing, she found immediate success—qualifying for the state meet in her first season and earning an impressive 8th-place finish as a junior. Her rapid progression has made her one of the most promising developing throwers heading into the collegiate level.
Banta credits her growth to the people and opportunities placed in her path, and she is eager to continue building on that foundation at HCC.
"I just started not even a year ago not knowing what to do, but the Lord God knew what He was doing and put Coach Trell in my life to pursue track! I placed at state my first year, and I am most excited to compete for the glory of God and be with the best coach ever, Trell."
Her passion and commitment to improvement make her a strong addition to Hawkeye's throwing group, and the RedTails look forward to supporting her continued development on and off the field.
