Hawkeye Volleyball Builds Experience at DMACC Spring Scrimmage
On March 26, the Hawkeye RedTail Volleyball Team attended the Spring Scrimmage at DMACC in Des Moines, Iowa. The team got valuable experience during their scrimmage games, which focused more on development than competition. With no officials or official scoring, each matchup consisted of about 50 minutes of continuous play.
The first game was against Iowa Central. Iowa Central's physical style of play presented a challenge, but the team responded well and competed effectively.
The second matchup was against Faith Baptist, a team known for keeping the ball in play. This tested the team's defense, but they handled the pressure well.
Facing two very different styles of play gave the team a chance to adapt and grow in multiple areas.
"Our offense is running smoothly, and our ball control and defense look strong. Spring is about getting reps, gaining experience, and building confidence for the upcoming fall season. It was fun to compete today with this group!" said head coach Christy Mahi.
