RedTail Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Take on Iowa Lakes
The RedTail wrestling team traveled to Iowa Lakes Community College for a dual on January 20th.
Hawkeye Men's Highlights

Maxwell Mintle (165 lbs) – Put on a dominant performance, earning a 15–0 technical fall in just 2:18.

Austin Pfantz (174 lbs) – Controlled the match throughout, securing a 20–5 technical fall in 6:45.

Johnathan Kelly (197 lbs) – Earned a solid 14–4 major decision with a strong showing.

Josh Vis (285 lbs) – Closed out the dual in emphatic fashion with a 17–1 technical fall in 4:18.
HCC showed resilience across the board and secured four bonus-point victories in the upper weights. Mintle, Pfantz, Kelly, and Vis led the charge with aggressive scoring and efficient finishes, highlighting the team's depth and grit.

Lemuna Gurisho (110 lbs) – Dominated from the opening whistle, cruising to a 10–0 technical fall in just 1:23.

Annabelle Johnson (160 lbs) – Secured a quick fall in 1:11 to add valuable bonus points.

Alyson Krum (207 lbs) – Locked up a pin in 1:55 with an impressive performance.

Mackenzie Arends (235 lbs) – Sealed the dual with a strong 5–0 decision victory.
HCC racked up multiple bonus-point victories, including three technical falls, two pins, and a forfeit. The squad showed depth across the middle and upper weights, with standout performances from Gurisho, Kurth, Ficken, and Johnson leading the charge.
"We don't measure success by the scoreboard alone; we measure it by how we respond, how we fight, and how we grow," said head coach Dan Lovell. "This team showed heart in every match, and that's the foundation we build on."
