RedTails Compete in Mustang Jamboree
The RedTail Women's Cross Country team took third place at the Mustang Jamboree on Saturday, October 24. The Redtails lost the tiebreaker with Edgewood, which fell to the sixth scoring runner.
Ryann Portch led the way, taking sixth overall, finishing in 19:23.64. Kaylee Leicht finished 10th overall with 19:50.19. This was Leicht's second sub-20-minute 5K of the year. Mindi Sande crossed the finish line next (20:37.96, 23). Sande ran her lifetime personal best time. To round out the top five scoring was Hannah Payne (20:43.80,26) and Rachel Wardell (21:08.87,36). Elizabeth Barfells was the RedTail's sixth runner finishing with a time of 21:46.21.
"The women's team had one of the better spreads of the meet, which really shows the strength of this team," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "They all work equally hard, and they're looking sharp going into the Regional Championships next week!"
The RedTail women will be back in action for the Regional XI Champs on Sunday, November 1.
