The No. 3 RedTail Women's Cross Country team placed third in the NJCAA Division II National Championship on November 14, with Ryann Portch and Kaylee Leicht earning the forth and forth All-American honors in program history.
"I'm extremely proud of these ladies," said head coach Tyler Mulder. "I've been saying it all year long, but this is the hardest working team that I've been blessed to coach."
Portch led the way, taking fifth overall, finishing in 19:30.41. Kaylee Leicht finished seventh overall with a time of 19:45.70. Rachel Wardell crossed the finish line next (20:41.64, 29). Rounding out the RedTail top five were Hannah Payne (20:49.01,31) and Sophie Spargur (21:34.03,52). Elizabeth Barfells was the RedTail's sixth runner finishing with a time of 21:42.23. Emma Drake was the RedTail's seventh runner finishing with a time of 22:29.94.
"They deserve to celebrate their successes, walking away with two All-Americans really shows those ladies work hard," Mulder said. "We're very thankful for the opportunity to race and that we got the opportunity to get this season in."
The RedTail women will be back in action for the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships on Tuesday, November 17.
