RedTails Take Two of the Top 5 Spots at the Mount Mercy Corridor Classic

CEDAR RAPIDS–On September 3, the Women's Cross Country team participated in Mount Mercy Corridor Classic, running a 5k. 

Ryann Portch was the first overall finisher tying her personal best time of 18.58.8. Finishing next for the RedTails and third overall was Emma Hoins with a time of 19:10.9. Chloe Matthews finished next for the RedTails and 19th overall with a time of 20.59.7. With a time of 21.21.9, Aubrey Eick was the next to cross the finish line for the RedTails and 24th overall. Aviella Holtz finished next for the RedTails and 31st overall with a time of 22:08.2.

"For these ladies to open up their season with the wet and humid conditions, is a testimony to their hard work that they've put in since we started practicing as a team," says coach Tyler Mulder. "They ran very strong and very smart races which really sets the tone for the year!"  

Next up for the RedTails is a 6k race at Grinnell on September 11.
